We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer with strong experience in advanced data engineering, including high-performance data processing, building scalable services, AI/ML pipelines, and deployment in high-availability production environments. The role requires hands-on experience with TypeScript, and the work will have a direct impact on the security of real-world systems at enterprise scale. This is not a typical CRUD backend role. We are solving complex, data-heavy, performance-sensitive engineering challenges.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable, high-availability backend services using Node.js and TypeScript, with a strong emphasis on reliability and production readiness
- Participate in technical discussions and support delivery lifecycle
- Work with PostgreSQL and event streaming/messaging systems, handling both structured and unstructured data
- Maintain CI/CD pipelines and actively contribute to agile processes
- Optimize and maintain data models (PostgreSQL, MySQL)
- Participate in code reviews and mentor junior developers
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on experience building and owning complex backend systems in production
- Strong backend engineering experience (Node.js/TypeScript - primary, Python - advantage), building high-scale backend services (beyond simple CRUD APIs)
- Strong understanding of algorithms and data structures, with the ability to write efficient and optimized backend code
- Deep understanding of scalable, distributed backend architectures, asynchronous and event-driven systems, and performance optimization, including Node.js frameworks
- Proven experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure), deploying cloud-native services, and managing CI/CD pipelines with Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience designing and optimizing high-volume data processing systems and working with large-scale datasets in production
- Highly independent and proactive, with strong problem-solving and analytical skills, while being a collaborative team player with a strong sense of ownership for the end-to-end delivery of complex projects
