In the wake of oppression, the powerful will ask the oppressed to choose “peace.” What they really mean is order. Peace requires justice.

How offensive to hear you demand peace from those of us who didn’t invite the violence in the first place. How dare you.

I am nonviolent. But I still must call out the deep hypocrisy of supremacy to demand peace from those it violates.

Privilege + systems of supremacy are audacious in their willingness to be unashamedly hypocritical. Violent actors demanding order.

All this is purposeful: to divert attention from the violence of our state + paint peaceful protestors as threats. BEFORE we even protest.

Peace requiring justice is so true. I keep being reminded of Jesus in the temple "market" throwing over tables. We need that Jesus now.

My goal is to teach other white people so that WE can be the ones to throw over those tables and right the system.

Whiteness is a privilege and one can choose to use those powers for good or for evil.

By walking out my door I benefit from the system... but if I can learn ABOUT the system, share that knowledge, then we can dismantle it.
